ahaha you totally should. I mean, when you first hear that it's a graphic novel you don't think so much of it. But I've actually become really interested in comic books because of it.

You don't realize it, but they can tell stories really wonderfully in ways that novels can't.

BESIDES Watchmen is epic on so many levels. The characters and the techniques AND EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS. LIKE THE ENDING WHICH IS ALL "asjdlfkjkf HOLY SHIT did that really just happen?! That was so brilliant I can't even explain it."

I'm such a Watchmen fan after reading the book. It's totally worth the money too. I lent mine out to a friend and I had withdrawal because I couldn't go back and re-read certain parts.

The thing that amazes me about it is that there're all of these historical/cultural tie ins. Like the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. And then Nixon era feelings. I mean there are heroes, but only one of them is really 'super' and the way that its worked in to the culture is just BRILLIANT. And the moral ambiguity of them is really intricate.

read it PLEASE. It makes me exceptionally happy.
