So wondygal did the original fic version of this meme, which I had been planning to do for a while, but kept putting off because it is REALLY, REALLY difficult (I still plan to do it! Eventually!). But then I saw a fanvid-inspired variation, and wanted to occupy myself while HIMYM and Gossip Girl download. I - can't imagine anyone will want to read my crazy love-fueled vid rambling, but whatever, I ENJOY TALKING ABOUT THESE THINGS.

Pick your five ten all-time favourite fanvids, the ones which made you laugh or cry or kicked you in the guts, that inspired you to offer the vidder internets and first born sons, and tell us why you loved them. This picspam is not at all organized! Because I started off with like, two things so I decided not to do size coordination. JUST IGNORE THAT. Also, the entire time I was making it, I was talking to moogle62 on G-chat about, like, everything. There is no Dollhouse in this because I wanted to make it moogle62 friendly after yakking at her about it all day. MOOG, HURRAY UP WITH THE WATCHING SO I CAN STOP WORRYING ABOUT SPOILING YOU. The lovely Eliza Dushku was also excluded because I wound up with way too many pictures of her and I AM TIRED. But tomorrow! Eliza spam!

WOW. Just...wow. Guys, if you haven't given Veronica Mars a chance, do me a favor and just try out the first five or six episodes. The first season blew me out of the freaking water with a mix of snappy writing, stunning color, and emotion. VM is like a fantastic mix of three or four of my favorite shows, but has the strongest connections to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (kickass, little blonde takes down the bad guys) and Gossip Girl (Veronica's relationships to Duncan and Logan especially, but also the slight similarities between the UESers and the 09ers). However, I find the way Veronica solves mysteries to have less of an Alias feel and more like this awesome mashup between Chuck, Psych, and Supernatural.

I was going to answer the backlog of comments I have, picspam Glory and talk about "Crush" and the sadness of "I Was Made to Love You" and how Spike's become kind of an idiot lately, but then there was "The Body". An episode so sad, so beautiful, and so close to a work of art it's astounding.

The coloring for this picspam is kind of weird since a) Spike and Dru have the curse of never ever getting a scene in some NORMAL LIGHTING and b) Buffy and Angel have surprisingly different lighting. BtVS caps for the later seasons are more orangey, therefore the "Fool for Love" set is mostly too yellow, but the Angel caps have a lot of blues, so the "Darla" set ended up a little too magenta. Apart from the scene where Spike kills the Chinese slayer in "Fool for Love" (you know, the one with the insane red filter), I think the coloring came across mostly OK, though.

This picspam is brought to you by the most beautiful episode of BtVS that I've ever seen. This episode is so wonderful because every time you watch it, you pick up something new. While Buffy's dream was the most beautiful (though those caps of Buffy laughing in Giles' dream are probably my favorite of the entire series. I swear, sometimes I think SMG is the most beautiful girl in the world), Xander's scared me the most. Every time he ended up in the basement I was peeking through my fingers at the screen. And the eerie way he says, "That's not the way out"? OH MY GOD. *hides*

I had this really detailed and tl;dr post about my thoughts on the second half of Buffy S2 (short version: OMG I LOVE IT, Xander/Cordelia is too awesome for words, "Passion" was the first episode to make me cry, and "Becoming, Part II" is my favorite so far), but LJ ate it, and I am way too lazy too type it all up again. So I picspammed Drusilla instead. Spike and Dru are my favorite characters on Buffy, and apparently neither of them get substantial screen time in S3. *woe* Also, I think I love Dru too much to ever be a Spike/Buffy shipper. I know Spuffy becomes canon sometime in S5, which means sometime before then Spike and Dru have to break up, though I can't think of a reason that would cause them to split, seeing as Spike would probably move the Earth for Dru if she asked, and went up against freaking Angel to get her back (though I suppose Dru would be kind of pissed that Spike teamed up with Buffy to take down her sire. BUT THEY COULD TOTALLY WORK THAT OUT TOGETHER. THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO BREAK UP OVER IT). AUGH.
