Dominic: Aside from Topher being Topher, everything's under control. Adelle: And I'll expect you to keep it that way while I'm gone. Dominic: Did Rossum tell you why they're calling you in? Adelle: Considering our recent track record, I'm sure they want to pat me on the head and tell me I've been running a crackerjack operation. Maybe there'll be cake. Dominic: M'am, none of these incidents were your fault. Adelle: On the contrary Mr. Dominic, everything that happens under this roof is my fault. And for the next 48 hours, it's yours. /// Roger: Catherine? Roger: Is this for work? Hmmm. Topher. Is that a name? Adelle: They think I'm at headquarters. Could be very urgent, or it could be Topher calling to tell me that his sweater is itchy. Roger: Well, I could give it back. Or I could drop it. And let the uh, sharks talk to their own. It's up to you. Adelle: It is a very slippery phone. I have complained about that a lot. Roger: Oh, really, I hadn't, oh, oh - [Drops Adelle's phone over a cliff] Adelle: That was...probably a very bad thing that just happened. Roger: Accidents. Can be done. You were trying so hard to relax. Which makes me want to know why you were trying so hard to relax. Adelle: Am I that transparent? Roger: No, but I have x-ray eyes. Adelle: It's been very rocky at work. Roger: The Dollhouse. It's hard for me to even wrap my mind around it. Bizzare. Adelle: I used to head a division that grew replacement organs out of stem cells. I could tell people what I did for a living. Roger: And now? You've told me what you do. Isn't it just - helping lonely people? Adelle: Pathetic, self-deluding souls. Roger: Now, Catherine. Shall we take this elsewhere? /// Roger: Not bad, you almost had me there. Adelle: Not good either. One more point and you win. Roger: Is that all? Roger: You have had a rough day at work. /// Roger: You. Are. Perfection. If I could make a woman, I'd make you. Adelle: Really? Roger: Yes. In fact, if I were one of your clients, I would order one of you. With a spare, for when you're in the shop. Roger: What, Catherine? You're not...seriously considering what I said? Adelle: No! [Laughs] I'm not suggesting you become a client. I think the universe might collapse under that one. Roger: Good. 'Cause I don't want an ersatz you. I want the real you. Adelle: And I want the real you. Adelle: Sometimes I think you're the most real person I've ever met. Roger: That's not irony. No one gets that right. Adelle: Everyone has their first date, and the object is to hide your flaws, and then you're in a relationship, and it's all about hiding your disappointment, and then once you're married, it's about hiding your sins. Roger: Catherine - mistress of the dark observation. Adelle: [Laughs] But with you there's no reason to hide anything real. Roger: Let's run away together. Cash in everything we have. We'll buy a...bar on the beach in River Tonga. Adelle: And buy extra phones just to drop them in the water. And we'd never own...clocks, or computers, or sexy business woman shoes. Roger: No, I'm keeping my sexy business woman shoes. Adelle: And there'll be no clocks in the bar. Only cool local beers and dogs that wander in from playing on the beach. Roger: It could be the weekend all the time. Adelle: Just forget it. Can't happen. Roger: Why not? What's wrong? Something 'bout you? Something 'bout me? Adelle: You aren't - Roger: I'm not...who you need? Adelle: Oh no. You're exactly who I need. We just can't have that. You have to trust me. Roger: I do. I trust you. Completely. /// Roger: What time is - why're you dressed? Did I hear someone in the house? Roger: What happened? /// Adelle: I trusted you with a gift, Mr. Dominic. Dominic: The Dollhouse is not a gift. Adelle: I think the countless people who we've helped would disagree with you. Dominic: How 'bout the countless people you've hurt? Adelle: Name one. Dominic: Her? Adelle: Funny. Coming from the man who tried to kill her. Twice. Adelle: Why did you want to bring down the Dollhouse? What can the NSA do with it that we can't? Dominic: I wasn't sent to bring you down. I was sent to make sure you didn't bring yourself down. If it weren't for me, Paul Ballard would have found you already. I never lied to you, about my methods or my priorities. Adelle: You lied about your intentions. Dominic: Do you know what the world will be like when Rossum lets the Dollhouse slip from its grasp? The technology needs to be reined in and controlled! Adelle: By a clandestine organization with little government oversight? Dominic: It's embarrasing, how naive you are. You believe in the Dollhouse, in its mission? It's like you believed in me, and look how that played out. You were wrong. Adelle: [Speaking to Echo] Get what you can out of him about the NSA and have Topher prep him for the Attic. Dominic: That's it, Miss DeWitt? You're signing my death warrant like it was a business transaction? Adelle: It is. Dominic: The agency'll figure out and they'll come looking for me. Adelle: And when they do, you'll tell them everything's fine. And then we'll put you back in your box. What? Did you think I'd show you mercy? Or rage? Three years by my side. I think you'd know me better than that. Dominic: You're a piece of work. Adelle: So they tell me. Goodbye. /// Adelle: [After being shot by Mr. Dominic] It's a raze. Get on with it. /// Topher: The, uh, unabridged Laurence Dominic. Adelle: Lose it in the archives. Trust that his body's on the way to the Attic? Topher: ...bleeding, blood. Uhhh, coagulating. You should see Dr. Saunders. Adelle: How did I not see this coming? Topher: No one did. Adelle: Yes. You saw enough to imprint Echo as an investigator. Topher: Yeah, about that, unless you're about to give me a better parking space, I can't take all the credit for that. Adelle: Ivy? Topher: Echo. She came to me, and asked me to imprint her. Adelle: Dominic had her in his crossheads for months. She took out her biggest threat. Topher: She's still evolving. Saunders' wish fulfillment exercise...didn't fulfill anything. Adelle: She's protecting herself. Topher: D'you want me to wipe her again? Adelle: No. She just saved the Dollhouse. Keep an eye on her. Echo might be useful to us in ways we haven't yet realized. Adelle: Oh, I almost forgot. Um, shelve the Roger imprint. Miss Lonelyhearts phoned and said she no longer requires his services. Topher: Some hunky octogenarian sweep her off her walker? Adelle: Nothing so dramatic. She finally realized the indiscretion was unwise. /// Saunders: I know you were close to Mr. Dominic. Adelle: He was an employee with whom I worked closely. There's a difference. Saunders: It's OK to feel something. Adelle: That would imply I'd lost something. Saunders: Didn't you? Adelle: Nothing I can't live without. /// Boyd: Miss DeWitt. I ran a full security sweep. New background checks for all employees are in the works, but right now this looks like it didn't go any further than Dominic. Adelle: Congratulations, Mr. Langton. Boyd: For what? Adelle: For becoming our new Head of Security. Boyd: I appreciate the offer, but I need to stay with Echo. I need to take care of her. Adelle: Apparently you don't. It seems she's the one taking care of us. /// ![]() |

I loved DeWitt this episode. She was just so...idk....human...but also quite hardcore. And I totally did not see the whole Adelle/Roger-Victor thing coming but OH MY GOD I LOVE IT!
Anyway, lovly picspam. Gorgeous colouring.
I really liked the Adelle/Roger!Victor stuff a lot too! It was really borderline creepy, but dammit, I like seeing Adelle happy.
Very nice picspam. This episode really made me 1,000 more interested in Ms. Dewitt.
Amazing picspam! *__*
Thank you!
It was such a great episode for her.
BTW, would you like to crosspost this at
Annnnd, already have! I was a pimping machine with this baby.
♥ Adelle DeWitt in 1x09.
♥ Adelle DeWitt in 1x09 in this picspam.
♥ you for making this picspam of Adelle DeWitt in 1x09.
Basically ♥ you always!
(And, seriously, that first scene with its NORMALCY and STANDING PRETTYtasticness almost punches me in the soul most of all, because seriously, WHO SAW EVERYTHING AFTER IT COMING. Also: look how pretty they stand. Seriously.)
I am supposed to be writing a paper this weekend, and I can't even think of a topic because my brain is BROKEN! Broken by this mad, magnificent show!
JEEZ, I KNOW. I think my thoughts after seeing that scene were of the, "Ohhhh, a joyous episode of DeWitt/Dominic quippy, semi-flirty dialogue! YAAAAY!" variety, and that is...so not what happened.
She is fierce and she has pretty hair!
Is the scene with Dominic before the one where she cries with Roger?
Because that would be awesome <3
pretty picspam, thanks for sharing :)
She completely stole last night's episode.
I love her so much right now, She really stole last nights ep!
Btw, I totally didn't see the Victor/Adelle thing coming. :D
